What string do you prefer?

Ernie Ball 009-046. It's the best of two worlds.  009-011-016 for ease of bending, and 026-036-046 for a nice full rhythm tone. Unless you're doing the SRV thing, OR de-tuning, there's no point in going any heavier. You just don't need telephone cables to get great tone.

That's a bigger jump than it sounds like. You might want to go to 9s for a while first.

I'll give them a shot--8s are feeling just too wimpy for me lateley, especially since I've been playing more.

For the Bassists: I started using Circle K (not the store) strings a couple of months ago, and I won't go back....
I use the Balanced .142 set Handles Standard, and half-step down with ease, and
they sound great too!!!
For more info on the best strings on the market IMHO: http://circlekstrings.com/store/index.html

As far as bass strings go, I use D'Addario EXL170 strings (45-100), but I've been meaning to get something with a thicker E string, because my E string is kind of floppy when I flip the detuner down to D.

I tried Rotosound RS66 strings once, absolutely hated the feel.

I would like a string that's as bright as possible, doesn't tear apart the fingerboard, doesn't tear up my fingers and doesn't get floppy in DADG tuning. :dontknow:

On my G4 bass, I use Ernie Ball Power Slinkys. On my guitar, wich is a Epiphone Les Paul Studio, I currently use GHS Boomers, a GBM set. Correction: I've decided to get Ernie Ball Power Slinkys for my guitar. They did wonders for the sound of my bass, so I'm going to try them.

I tend to go for daddario .011s but I always like to try different stuff - it depends on the guitar, I guess. I try half-rounds, light/heavy sets, etc., as long as they are .010 or heavier.
For acoustic there is only one string - Martin SP .012. I would try .013 if I had a dedicated slide / open tuning acoustic though.

I've been using Ernie Ball .12's for forever but I'm about to move down to .11's so that I can play faster leads. The SRV thing was great for a while but it's time to move on.

Acoustic, I love Ernie Ball earthwoods... probably 12's or maybe 13's.

Fender Bullets. 10-46.

No love for the Bullets? :icon_scratch:

I doubt it if it makes any difference at all, but I think the high mass bullet ends are a cool idea, and they sound good on my Strat. :blob7:
