Time to learn flute methinks.

I still have a copy of thick on vinyl, Now that was a band, Ian Anderson was one hell of a front man and his poetry is awesome. We in America do not understand how political a lot of those lyrics are as they are about English Politics and society. But they were really a confrontational band in Great Britain. The guitarist was fantastic also, it is a shame the original lineup was torn to pieces by inner tensions of the band, But then we got Blodwin Pig from that which is a great band also.
Anyway, I loved that Album, Used to play it through almost every night after it was first released . Nice find.

Man She Rocks that Fiddle
That folks is something we may never see again, in those days we were still really experimenting with the Rock and roll sound, and we had bands such as Tull that went so far outside the box and were some of the hardest rack bands out there. They were great and had a sound that they ruled. I am afraid in this day of homogeneous retreading our current musical industry demands today for profit and instant hits, It would be hard to find artist that rock like that and lead musical experimentation get popular today.

This one got them a lot of grief, and from those who never really listened to the words

This is steve morse with two friends of mine, Magnus and Simon - which I studied music with.
This video is from when I still struggled with the intro to smoke on the water, so there was no hope for me.
Magnus's dad is a good friend of steve morse. That's why they got the oppurtunity to play with him  :toothy11:

This was at the very last night of Hell Music Festival which is the biggest blues festival in Norway - and what's cool about it it's that Hell is a part of the town I'm living in :evil4:

I'm recording it with magnus's camera.

And what's really awesome - is that the only gear that steve actually owned, was his guitar. The rest of his rig was stuck in sweeden.
Simon is 14 years old in this clip and magnus is 17. That's bloody awesome!

Steve was tired and wanted to do a short number and skip the guitar solo, but magnus called him in on it just a couple of measures before.

Some of the vids posted here make me question my fellow forum members' sanity.  :icon_scratch: :icon_scratch: :icon_scratch: :icon_scratch:

Gotta be the Beatles Rooftop Concert, but you've all seen that already, right?

Which just goes to show it's the musician, not the equipment, that makes the music. Too many guys get all caught up in the gear thing, wasting all kinds of time they could be practicing instead of anguishing over not having the ultimate boutique guitar/amp/effect/etc.

That had to be quite an experience. That's like saying "yeah, I had a major role in a movie with Robert DeNiro" or "Me and Jimi Hendrix jammed all the time. Phuquer couldn't tune a guitar worth a tinker's damn, but it was an old Strat, after all, so you gotta give 'im a break." <grin>

Hey! Great story Andreas.......I had a workmate once who used to travel to all sorts of places around the world and one day he announced for his next holiday he was going to Hell!!! Even sent all of us at work a postcard - from Hell..(The postcard from Hell, lol  :laughing7: )..On that trip he also went to Reykavik in Iceland and swore those guys were permanently drunk - he reckoned he never met one of them there who wasn't stoned on something or drunk. He also went to Canada to chase Polar Bears in Churchill & to a place called ShoShatshiteee...crazy guy.

This is one of my fav vids ...

And this one of Bowie and The Arcade Fire is very uplifting...

I had a buddy in the Air Force who got stationed in Iceland, and he said the same thing: everybody is permanently drunk, and if you've got any sense, you get that way yourself. Place doesn't have a whole lot to recommend it, being basically one big-ass uncomfortable freezing rock. It's not clear why anybody lives there. But, there are a lot of places that don't make sense to live but people do anyway. Deserts come to mind. N'awlins for another.

New Orleans is worth it for the food alone.

As for Deserts... I guess 30 million Californians are all just silly gooses.
