HI all, new here, been lurking this forum for awhile though.  planning a warmoth strat build in the near future... alot of people have recommended callaham bridges to me.  they're about four times the price of the 6-hole warmoth strat bridges.  anyone have experience with both?  is the price difference justified by the quality difference?  Thanks

They're nice bridges... nothing at all wrong with them. Better in some respects, but not dramatically so. Not worth the premium price, if you ask me, although you wouldn't be sorry if you bought one. Definitely first-class stuff. But, if you're looking for something high-quality, high-performance and somewhat different in appearance so people know you're a discerning builder, you might want to pay attention to some of the Gotoh or Hipshot models for fixed bridges. As for vibratos, Wilkinson makes some of the finest units out there as well. Unless you have a hard-on for vintage appearance, stay away from the six-point vibratos, regardless of manufacturer. Along the same lines, I'd avoid the Floyd Rose or Kahler models as well. Far too heavy and complex for such a simple task, although they do look cool from a teen-aged "Transformer" point of view <grin>

Don't listen to Cagey, he doesn't know shit!

Floyd Rose or Kahler tremolo's are the only way to go - anything else and you'll sorely regret it later. Also, you won't be allowed into heaven.

Dont' mess with the rookie's head! He won't know how much salt he should take with that advice.
I recommend one grain, personally.
