finally! my seymour duncan custom shop pickups should be here tomorrow or friday, and warmoth just sent me a QUANTUM VIEW (aka most exciting email you can receive). the warmoth item (don't know if it's the body or neck yet) is scheduled to arrive on the 23rd. merry early christmas to me!
I love that term Quantum View in regards to Warmoth packages.  If anything, opening one of those emails seems to slow down time.

I'm a little ashamed but here is my second sale build. 2 is better than 1 right?

This was a custom order - not off the showcase.  They did it in 4 weeks flat  :headbang:

Hannaugh - you really need to be more assertive on the phone buddy!

I'm totally confused then.  When I called they were like "Nope, we're out of stock."  Then I called again and I said "Someone I know just ordered it," and they were like "Well you should check where you get your info from then because we're out of stock."  I guess what you have to do is just call and order all nonchalantly and when they realize they are out of stock in that wood they'll just have to scrounge some up for you.

Mayfly, when did you order that?

I placed a neck order two days before the sale out of the showcase and haven't seen it yet. I know they probably do things in batches so I'm being patient.

Finished or unfinished? A finished neck is gonna take at least a couple of weeks longer...

I don't know what to say.  There was never any indication at any time that it would be a problem.

now...

I have noticed there is sometimes a difference between W sales folks.  Some are a bit more willing to help with strange/unusual stuff than others.  This is just human nature and nothing to really get worked up about, but it's there.  Maybe I got a good guy that day.

I placed my order Nov 19.  Note that it does not have a finish on it, which speeds things up.

Here's another thought - the Tele headstock is smaller than the strat, so they can use a smaller blank to make the neck.  One possibility is that they have a bunch of canary tele neck blanks, but no strat blanks.  Hence the situation that we collectively find ourselves in now.

To test this hypothesis, I can order up a canary strat neck (and send it to Hannaugh) and we can see what happens there.

Here's another thought.  When Mayfly ordered his, they weren't out.  When Hannaugh did, they were out.

My own editorial, as much as I like Warmoth, sometimes the answers I get are different depending on who's on the phone.  On 3 occasions I've gotten conflicting info on issues relating to available finishes and even what I.D. a tuner hole is/was.  Those things weren't affected by the fluctuation of market availibilty.  They're people too, and in the end it all got straight.

Merry Christmas to me....  :headbang1:  Maple top, mahogany back.  Selected to have a neck humbucker routered also.  Washed blue dye top with a clear gloss back...

Also splurged on an Indian Rosewood neck with rosewood board.  '59 round back, 6150 frets, and black TUSQ nut

Now I just need to search the couch cushions for $$ for the rest of the parts.

I received my order today. I thought the photos online looked good, but holy cow photos can't do the pieces justice! Amazing.
I noticed a small flaw/maybe crack on the back of the headstock, but I'm gonna have my luthier check it, doesn't look it its going to be a big deal.

Big thanks to the guys at warmoth!
