Warmoth nitro satin - will it buff to a gloss?

How about a simple answer to the thread.

Well it looks like no one has buffed an entire satin finish neck, other than playing.  If the gloss is too plasticy, and the satin isn't exactly era specific, buff a satin finish.  Also, consider the Vintage Tint in satin.

Warmoth doesn't offer nitro cellulous; only poly.
Wrong.

Satin nitro.

are we sure about this?  I just check the site and it states neither nitro or poly...just gloss or satin.  I find it unusually that they would finish a body in poly and a neck in nitro...but hey...I have been wrong before.
It's true, Warmoth is using a different satin on the bodies than on the necks. The neck's satin formula is a Nitro.

Hi guys, thanks for the responses.
I emailed Warmoth.

"You might be able to buff that to a gloss but we can make no recommendations or promises as to the outcome.
I would say to proceed cautiously though as that is not a thick finish."

I ended up ordering in satin

Cheers

Warmoth's finishes are VERY thin. Unless you are some prodigy with a buffer... I might not try it. It's easier than you think to go through.
