Update time.
So, today's main problem was that tuner screw. I went around to some hardware stores looking for a small piece of tubing to make a tubular drill bit out of. No luck... so, had to improvise even more.
The smallest tube-ish thing I could find at local stores was this, a hose... adapter... thing. (and a triangular file).
I also made a dowel out of a piece of spruce.
The screw extracter did very well, and I was able to drill the screw out.
So, now there's the problem of the hole.
Hoorah.
Oh, Nando, here's the unfinished wood. I swear the guitar was not white before Tonar got it!
There's color variation in the grain fill that I can't take a picture of... I find it very attractive.
I also wired the guitar up. I know you guys like clean wiring, and I think I did alright for some kid with only one wiring project under his belt (Guitar #1
)
And, I ordered the pickguard blanks today. They'll get here Thursday. I'm meeting up with the CNC guy Wednesday, and he'll also get the material Thursday. I refined my design a bit for this guitar, and ended up with this (moved stuff around by about an eighth of an inch)
I like white on there too
Maybe I'll order a thin white guard as well!
