Time for a new "Unofficial Warmoth Raffle"?

Better get to posting!! And not about Cialis, Rogaine, Exotic Vacations, etc.!!  :laughing7:

I usually try to avoid creating posts that don't add more than just '+1' 'me too!' or 'cool build, really like the ...'. But for the higher purpose of being admitted to the 'charity event' I am willing to amend my ways.

+1.

Somebody had to :)

How about: "To be eligible to enter the drawing, you must have joined the forum by the time of the previous drawing."  That was 2/20/09 I think.  http://www.unofficialwarmoth.com/index.php?topic=6992.0

I do not think 1 post per day is a good requirement... for instance, ocguy106 who invented the raffle has 0.345 posts per day.

Ken (ocguy106) ran this thing last time.  If he's willing to do it again that would be ideal.  He has already proven himself trustworthy to handle the funds, which is the most worrisome part for me.

But that could eliminate several strong members, including say,.............. myself.  :icon_jokercolor:  I would consider myself a strong member of the board, not just a hang around.  :laughing7:

Even that figure keeps him in the 1 post per week average of 0.143 post per day.  :icon_thumright:

Okay, how about this.  Anyone can enter, but only Master Members can win.

I think any board member should be able to join, up until the first donation is officially made.

As long as they're willing to pony up the dough, I say anyone is allowed to partake.  I was one of the first members of the first Warmoth forum, and back during my first build I used to post quite a bit (high school).  Nowadays, I'm a full time student (college), work full time to pay for school and I play in a band that gigs almost weekly.  I log in almost everyday to read the hot topics and oogle new projects, but by the time I get home,  I'm either too tired to, or someone has already replied with the advice I would have given (not a big fan of the +1 schpeel).  Just because I don't post much doesn't perzactly make me a seldom member.

This is starting to turn my stomach like a room full of democrats and republicans fighting to redistrict a county before election day.

While I understand the desire to keep the prize "in the family" with one of our regular forum members, some of the suggestions have alienated me.

I'm not saying we shouldn't have criteria.  I just don't feel comfortable with some of the suggestions.

Maybe we should limit the number of tickets each member can buy depending on how active they've been.

Creative idea and not as alienating as some I've read.

too complicated to control. A drawing is a drawing, tickets are tickets. lol no reason to complicate things.

Whoever wins submits their user specific specs to our fearless drawing leader who orders the parts in the winners name. Not sure if that part was brought up yet.

Yea, I do not in any way want to encourage spamming on this board. Nor am I meaning in any way what-so-ever that high post count members are spammers.

Don't start makin stupid rules about who gets to play, if theres a minimum post rule, I'm out

Frankly, I don't care who wins it, or if they have 1 post, and are never heard from again.

And sorry Blue, when someone wins it, I don't wanna see things drag on for another month, talking about what to build.
