Champcaster. I love the G.E. Smith tele, and the idea is quite intriguing. I enjoy the sound of old lap steels, and the tele is a wonderful instrument. I've got a concept in my brain of a tele that looks normal, but sounds somewhat like a steel and has tons of hidden goodies. Push/pull pots, a vintage style bridge cover to hide a wood mounted SD antiquity for lap steel. one could use an esquire or tele pup, but the idea of a champ pickup is very tempting. Cutoff tele bridge?
Perhaps a cabronita with the same. Jazzcaster? Double bound? I saw a bound jazzycaster on tdpri one time, it was beautiful. Perhaps with a Bigsby...
Also, a contoured neck profile... A ridge to keep your thumb in the center of the fretboard and provide more thumb support for barre chords, stretches, etc. sorry for vaguness, I may post mockups later.
Post your ideas and comment on mine. I've made so many idea threads that I might as well contain them to one.
And a Bass XII- like the bass VI but with octave strings.
