Tat Strat

I also found a thread about tinting Tru-Oil on the TDPRI forum.

If I do end up tinting, it will be very subtle, just enough to enhance the natural color of the oil.

This is my absolute favorite guitar of this forum. Kick ass originality and tasteful execution. Just saying.

Thanks, and coincidentally your guitar is my favorite current build.  :occasion14:

I can't put any more oil on until I finish staining the edges, but in the meantime I placed some of the hardware on the body to see how it looks (still waiting on one pickup). And I'm still considering chrome knobs even though the black looks pretty cool.

I made the mistake of not looking closely at the bridge online before I ordered the body, so I'm also considering replacing these flat saddles with the more traditional Strat saddles. This Standard Flat Mount bridge just looks too plain to me.

The white pickguard should be here soon  :laughing7:

I'm not sure, but it looks like that bridge has the offset intonation screws? Callaham makes a set of saddles to fit that, but it looks pretty weird too.

I'm personally quite content with the tone of the modern Fender bridges, as are millions of other people. But if I just had to have bent sheet-metal saddles, I think I'd get a new bridge with the centered adjustment screws.

[/quote]Awesome - I'll be looking forward to photos of it.

I actually like the black knobs a lot with this guitar.  Black saddles with the chrome bridge might pair really nicely to marry the pickups & knobs together visually...

OMG - That will look awesome on this guitar! Nice work!

If anyone is wondering, the neckplate design is taken from part of the body design, and it's a sun face I copied from a baseball cap, surrounded by some tribal stuff I drew years ago.

Not only do we have here ..... 'Guitar of the Century' ... But also 'Custom Plate Maker' of the Century.
Great work to both of you  :icon_thumright:

This is sure one hell of a Strat to 'DROOLE' over on this forum... Simply Gorgeous !!!

To the 'Talented' person (Patriot54) doing this Tat Strat .... my hat goes off to you sir .... Simply Amazing  :o
Cheers to ya  :occasion14:

coming together nicely.  Front is getting darker too.  Can't wait to see it finished.

I just wanted to say thanks for showing me I'm a sucky artist, now I can go find something else to do with my time.  :tard:

Seriously, this is awesomeness to the 6th power.  :headbang:
