Rosewood Soloist Build Thread

Started taping up the body for the masked accent line and applying the shellac as a blocker, but still undecided on the color for the Swamp Ash core. Testing Rubio colors on some scrap swamp ash and keep going back and forth, but will decide tonight one way or another. I'll have a few drinks when I get home, that always helps me make decisions faster and stop hem hawing around....... :p

Got the Rubio color on the Swamp Ash last night and I'm pretty happy with it. The masked accent line turned out good with just a few small bleed areas I should be able to touch up. Now to do some 'Precision Sanding' to remove the shellac on the line and clear coat the entire body.

Great work! I wasn't understanding what you were doing with the masking before but it turned out looking good!
Thanks. Yeah Warmoth refers to it as 'Masked Accent Line' so I just go with that. I've also heard Faux Binding.

Here's the example from Warmoth's site. Once the clear is applied it just all homogenizes (how do you like that big word @Spud ). I'm thinking about an ever so slight dark burst like this, but might be difficult - those finishers at Warmoth are good !! @aarontunes, any insight as to how this is applied ?
