No. According to a nationwide survey in 2001, 35.9% of Texans have guns while 38.4% of Michiganders do, at least legal ones. It's anybody's guess on the number of "illegal" guns anywhere, but they don't call Detroit the "Murder Capital" for its work on rodent infestations <grin>

The real adherents are Alaska, Alabama, Arkansas, Idaho, Montana, N. & S. Dakota, Virginia, and Wyoming, all with over 50% of the residents owning firearms.

The Michigan number may be larger now, too, since the "shall issue" laws for CCW licenses passed some years back. It's proven to be very popular, to the point where even young girls carry now. And surprise, surprise - crime has dropped dramatically.

Alaska pop. 710,00 x 50%=355,000
           Ark. pop.2.9 mil x 50%=1.45 mil
           Idaho pop. 1.5 mil x 50%=750,000
           Montana pop. 989,000 x 50%=494,000
           N. Dakota pop.672,000 x 50%=336,000
           S. Dakota pop. 814,000 x 50%= 407,000
           Wyoming pop.  563,000 x 50%= 281,000
           Virginia pop.  8 mil x 50%= 4 mil
           Michigan pop. 8.9 mil x 39%= 3.8 mil


           Texas pop. 25 mil x 35%= 8 mil...

Which was taken about the same time I finished up with Trevor's Mayfly BC30 cabinets...

That's the oak version with a zebra face; there was a similar walnut version I don't have good pictures of. Somebody needs to goad him into writing up a review...
