I'm planning on placing an order via Warmoth and coming as close as I can to this:

If anyone has any suggestions for success ... I'm all ears.....( umm....well...in this case....eyes)

Welcome aboard!

I seem to recall someone discussing on this very forum the possibility that Warmoth might have provided the necks and bodies for those SD guitars.  Did anyone ever come up with a conclusive answer to that speculation?

In any case, looks like you want a one-piece ash body with vintage amber finish, drilled for TOM and stoptail, with the neck pocket mod for that bridge configuration, twin humbucker routs, and whatever your favorite flavor of neck profile is in maple/maple.  It's a pretty classic look, modified to accommodate the twin HB's and LP=style bridge.

Happy building, and be sure to post pics when you get moving on it!

Welcome to the forum!

Warmoth did some parts for test, but Gregg said they were not doing the guitars that would be selled... Don't remember if he said who would...

I'd go with a hardtail or a wraparound bridge... but it would not be as this replica nor the original :)

Welcome from me too. Here is what the Tele Bodybuilder app on Warmoth's site gives us with Bagman's specs dialed in, and using an all maple neck from the Showcase. The color is a bit darker and redder than the 35, maybe Warmoth could come up with a custom mixed color for you. Going the other direction (lighter) the choice would be the vintage tint blonde color. Although it's not offerred by Warmoth, apparently, the zebra colored pickups are available elsewhere, and maybe from Warmoth on special order. Also, the neck pickup ring doesn't look right, but that's what the Bodybuilder gave me. In any case, it's not a bad look at all.

You can do that build pretty much exactly with Warmoth, would need to custom order the body. The vintage "Fender neck amber" would be the closest match to that finish.

I would have a web link handy and all the specs, call and ask them to check out the body and place your order over the phone. That's an easy build for them.
