R3 or R4 ?

What are the actual measurements between strings here, or between E to E for these two specs ?
  • R3 = 1-11/16" Nut-Width (Narrow string spacing)
  • R4 = 1-11/16" Nut-Width (Wide string spacing)
I have a digital caliper, and I'm trying to spec out a Warmoth build to match a guitar I have.. but I have no idea which nut is on this guitar.

I always opt for R3 in order to keep the strings away from the edge of the fretboard.

No one will be able to tell you what your preference will be. You'll have to experience both and decide for yourself. The good news is that is easy and relatively cheap to do.

Using the chart above, I was able to determine this guitar has an "R3" Floyd locking nut.
