question about recessed Floyd option

Hello,

For Warmoth bodies, if you choose the recessed Floyd Rose option, does the entire tremolo sit lower into the body (compared to non-reccessed Floyd option)?    or does recessed just mean the rear of the cavity is cut-out to allow pull-ups?  or both?

thanks!

i believe it is a little lower than a flatmount floyd (since flatmount doesn't get an angled neck pocket and the recessed do)
without recessing you can't do pull ups, since the body of the Floyd rests on the wood on a flatmount.

You can see some pictures in this thread:

thanks!  righteous Tele shredder!

the problems you had (nut too high and having to trim out the Floyd rout)...were these mistakes on Warmoth's part?

Warmoth says that recessing the trem eliminates the need for a shimmed neck pocket, which indicates that the bridge is indeed recessed. You should be able to adjust the studs to set the height anywhere you want it, however.
