Well I got the neck and all the parts. Just waiting on the body. So far I burnished the neck and shaped the fret ends. I am off to a good start.  :)

I got the neck with no nut installed and bought a aftermarket earvana nut for a fender so I can switch back in case I don't like it.

Got a good deal. Seems to be the same as the schallers.

Looks like its going to be a fine surfboard err guitar, keep the pics coming  :icon_thumright:

Which Klein set did you get? As I am now in the market for Tele parts, I have also been eyeballing the Emerson pre-wired kits. I would be keenly interested in your impressions...  :occasion14:

Nice flame on that neck! -And nice job shinin' 'er up; I thought from the reflections in the images that you'd put some sort of semi-gloss finish on it! Betcha it feels like silk!  :icon_thumright:

Curious about your frets; -what size/shape are those guys? The pic makes it seem like they have quite a peak to them, are they the SS6115's by chance?

I went with the 61's. I listened to the clips on their website and liked what I heard. Also poked around at the tele forum TDPRI and liked what people had to say. They look nice, we will see. That emerson kit looks well built. Very clean. Can't wait to see how it all will sound.

Thanks, that was hours of elbow grease  :). It turned out so slick and smooth. Really stoked on it. And you nailed it. I put SS6115's on my last build and really love them. My bends are way easier with them, although I found I cant press to hard or the note sharpens dramatically.

Thanks SnM, that answered my next question, too, about whatcha thought of 'em. I figured I'd hafta wait for an answer on that until after you finished this build, but ya had the info all ready and waiting for me!

I ask because I'm having them installed on my current neck order in-progress. Trying something a little different (for me) this time. I usually go fat neck/smaller frets, but this one is gonna be thin neck/big frets. I saw the 6115 profile and thought it looked like a slick compromise; big frets, but they are tiny on top!  :icon_jokercolor:

Cool that they are unique to W! -We'll see how I like 'em...

Thanks again for the feed-back!

Not a problem. I am interested to hear what you think. The neck I have em on now is a SRV shape. I really like the asymmetrical shape. Just plain ol feels good in my hand. This one is the wolfgang. I was really wanting to try that one seeing I liked the SRV so much. Seeing it in the showcase I couldn't resist.

Wow, nice.

Those frets intrigue me.  I'd like to try em in SS, bc I fear they will wear quickly and be hard to slide with.  Looks like a string bender's paradise, though.

Also, had the WG profile on a 1-3/4" neck.  It was a bit much, but I could tell that in 1-11/16, the profile would have been really nice.  Perfect amount of meat on the bass shoulder - maybe a hair more comfy than the 59RB.

Can't wait to see'er done.

These ones are the SS. I love how slippery that metal feels. I'm not sure that they come in another option. I would be afraid of wearing out to fast also.

Thanks for the feedback on the neck profile. I am excited to get this one together and see how she feels/sounds. A week or 2 and the body should come I hope!

I have the SS 6115's on a couple necks and they are slicker than snot.  I love 'em.  Not enormously wiade, but they have enough height to facilitate faster playing and easy bends.

That's a lovely job you've done on that neck, Surf.  Looking forward to seeing it mated with the  body.

Thanks Bagman, I am really stoked on it. I can't wait to see this transparent neon orange body. I think it is gonna look good with it.

Now that's what I call ORANGE! Looks really good with that neck and the white pick guard. Very cool....

No kidding! Thing really jumps out at you. And I agree about the neck/pickguard. This is gonna be a fine piece.
