Orange Telecaster.

Step right up and don't be shy,
because you will not believe your eyes.
She's right here behind the glass
and you're gonna like her,
'cause she's got class.
You can look inside another world.
You get to talk to a pretty girl.
She's everything you dream about...

....The Tubes

I won't finish out the lyrics, because they don't apply. But, for some reason, that song came to mind when I saw that guitar. She's a beauty. One in a million girls.

A song I have in rotation on my phone... :icon_thumright:

Lotta under-appreciated talent in that group. Surprised they didn't last longer.

For sure, very good musicians indeed. And a singer with one of the strangest names in rock or pop, however you want to label it...

Fee Waybill? Yeah, kinda unusual. But, then you have Dweezil Zappa, Iggy Pop and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. What were their parents thinking?

yip....Fee, what kinda name is that? Fee WayBILL....Fee_Bill, could be an inside joke amongst his parents... :dontknow:

I don't know. I'm racking my deflicted brane trying to think of what that might be short for, or an endearment of, but drawing a blank. I know with girls, Fee might be a short form of Fiona, but past that? Got me. Maybe Feeble? "That damned kid's retarded, I kin tell right now! He's pissin' his own damn pants! I'm gonna name 'im Feeble! We'll call 'im Fee, for short!"

Too sarcastic for their own good.  I've seen them a few times and they were (are?) excellent live.  Last time I saw them was in Denver opening for Utopia .. a LONG time ago.

I never really thought of them as "sarcastic"; I thought their anger was fairly blatant. But, in retrospect, you're probably right. After all, there really isn't any line between sarcasm and anger other than passivity.

I always thought of them as POP Zappa.  Fair or not.

Hehe! Yeah, The Tubes were an irreverent San Francisco-based quasi-punk glam-rock band who clearly knew a lot about marketing and music, mainly marketing. They knew how to mine dollars, sorta like Alice Cooper or Kiss. Probably best known for "White Punks on Dope" and "What do you Want From Life[/u]?" and "Talk To Ya Later". Fun stuff.
Talk to ya Later is another one of my faves from them...Never really cared for the Punk(y) stuff...

Now, there was some irreverence, sarcasm, undisguised anger and straight up honest humor. Ol' Fang never suffered any fools. Loved every minute of it. One of the few celebrities I've ever shed a tear for. I remember being at a concert when I heard about his dying, and had to go to the batroom and hide for a minute. Really pissed me off.

Same here. Sometimes wish I could have been sassy enough to say some of those very things to some chicks. As for the punky stuff, yeah. Not endearing. Seems like they either did great or sucked.

This is like the best looking Tele I've ever seen. It's sensational.

Thank you so much! I will tell ya I am stoked. A keeper for life. I love orange, it is so pleasing to my eye for some reason  :icon_biggrin: I keep finding myself looking down and eyeing her while I'm playing.
