A song I have in rotation on my phone... :icon_thumright:Cagey said:Step right up and don't be shy,
because you will not believe your eyes.
She's right here behind the glass
and you're gonna like her,
'cause she's got class.
You can look inside another world.
You get to talk to a pretty girl.
She's everything you dream about...
....The Tubes
I won't finish out the lyrics, because they don't apply. But, for some reason, that song came to mind when I saw that guitar. She's a beauty. One in a million girls.
For sure, very good musicians indeed. And a singer with one of the strangest names in rock or pop, however you want to label it...Cagey said:Lotta under-appreciated talent in that group. Surprised they didn't last longer.
yip....Fee, what kinda name is that? Fee WayBILL....Fee_Bill, could be an inside joke amongst his parents... :dontknow:Cagey said:Fee Waybill? Yeah, kinda unusual. But, then you have Dweezil Zappa, Iggy Pop and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. What were their parents thinking?

Too sarcastic for their own good. I've seen them a few times and they were (are?) excellent live. Last time I saw them was in Denver opening for Utopia .. a LONG time ago.Cagey said:Lotta under-appreciated talent in that group. Surprised they didn't last longer.
I always thought of them as POP Zappa. Fair or not.Cagey said:I never really thought of them as "sarcastic"; I thought their anger was fairly blatant. But, in retrospect, you're probably right. After all, there really isn't any line between sarcasm and anger other than passivity.
Talk to ya Later is another one of my faves from them...Never really cared for the Punk stuff...Cagey said:Hehe! Yeah, The Tubes were an irreverent San Francisco-based quasi-punk glam-rock band who clearly knew a lot about marketing and music, mainly marketing. They knew how to mine dollars, sorta like Alice Cooper or Kiss. Probably best known for "White Punks on Dope" and "What do you Want From Life[/u]?" and "Talk To Ya Later". Fun stuff.
