No Man's Land

I'm in that place, that desolate place...5 weeks into my placed body order, waiting on the tracking number email.  I've got all my parts amassed and have already done as much reading as possible.  I'm miserable!

In the meantime, I've been practicing drilling and installing threaded inserts and using various forstner bits using a hand-held drill guide, which is just amazing in the absence of a drill press.

I made a gentle inquiry by email when the order reached 8 weeks wondering if they might have some kind of rough estimate on when it might ship.

I got a reply saying that typical production time for build-to-order items receiving a finish is 8 - 10 weeks and that I'd get tracking info when it ships.  But no actual information about my order, so I just consult the local fortune teller for predictions.

What keeps me going is knowing that creating something nice takes time, and maybe they're really making it nice.

That's a real nice neck, definitely worth waiting for. 

The one I have on order has a laminated top, binding, and different colors front and back so that probably makes it more complicated.  Not to mention it'll be left-handed with a 3 bold neck mount, so those probably add time too.

Hate the waiting period too, Ive got two bodies almost complete and gotta save up cash for a couple necks, tempted to get a guitar fetish neck but I want SS frets!
