My next build - another 7/8 Strat (24")

My next build will have a freeway switch.  Where did you get those connectors for easy removal of the pickguard?

I got them from a hardware store, I believe. They don’t allow for soldering the wires. Instead you have to rely on screwing the wires to the connectors. Not ideal in a guitar I suppose, but they were the only ones I had on hand.

I'm going to try one of those Freeway blade switches in a build.

I’m sure you’ll like them. Easy to install, easy to use and gives so many cool sounds.

I have a question that I haven't found the answer to yet in the literature and since you have one of the toggles, may be able to answer it. Is the shift pattern an 'H' like a gearshift in a car where you would have to go from, say 3 to 6 by going into 2 then 5 (those would be nerutral in a car) and then to 6, or can you go directly from a position in one row to any one in the other row, like 3 directly to 6 or 4?

Yes, you can basically go from one position to any other. Sort of ...
Because just like when you have a 5-way switch and you  go from 1 to 5, you'll have to pass through positions 2,3 and 4.
And how this one works is like you have a 5-way that's a little "tilted" off to one side. You can then "push" it over to the other side, where it acts just like before but now have different internal connections to make position 6 to 10.
If that makes sense?
So going from position 1 to position 7 (position 7 is like position 2 but "off to the other side"), you go to position 2 and then push it over to position 7 - or - push it over to position 6 and then go to position 7.
But all this is such small movements so it sort of feels like "one swift motion", so to speak.

Thanks. I get the idea. It looks like I'll have to try one. Maybe on the Roadhouse. Or maybe on the Faultline. Or maybe the one after that. Or, or... :icon_biggrin:
