First thing ... the case.
An old style used SKB-66, in very good condition for $75 from ebay.

I typically leave my air guitars laying around so I can pick them up as needed.

I have tried the old “I-Have-This-Case-And-Its-Empty-So-I-Need-To-Build-A-New-Guitar” routine, an oldie but a goodie  :laughing7:

Brent Mason Nashville Tele Loaded Pickguard DiMarzio Area, Tortoise
DiMarzio DP240 Mini Humbucker Neck Pickup, Chrome Cover
DiMarzio DP415BK Area '58 Middle Pickup
DiMarzio DP418BK Area T Bridge Pickup
Nashville 3 Ply Pickguard
Genuine CRL USA made 5 way switch
Genuine CTS 250k Pots solid shaft
Orange Drop .022uF Capacitor
Chrome Knurled Flat Knobs
Chrome Control Plate
3 Way Mini Toggle Switch
Gavitt Vintage style push cloth wire (Black/White)
Switchcraft Output Jack

Seems pretty well made ...

Total Cost $270  (a lot cheaper than if I had sourced it individually, saved about $60)

Previously, I'd just accumulate the parts on my work desk and this way the parts go into the case, which goes into the closet ... and everything is in one place.

Those are some good choices. I like the 'case build' concept. :icon_biggrin:

Nice looking parts.

I am assuming the control in the first photo is not actually the one being used but rather the one at the bottom otherwise the wiring diagram does not match up.

I like the switch idea, as the Brent Mason wiring normally is a third pot that blends in the middle pickup.

@stratmania
Yeah, for a $20 upcharge they swaped the seven way for the 9-way.
I ordered my neck plate.  Will post when after it arrives.

Great, look forward to seeing the build progress.

Neck Plate Arrived.  20 bucks.  Sort of like the cornerstone on a building and totally juvenile!
Should I use their screws, or go with Warmoth's?

Well ... I did it, I bought this and have totally depleted all my guitar buying funds ($456 gulp!), it'll have humbucker / strat/ tele routs.  The reason I went with the humbucker rout is to give me an option in the future and that the dimarzio mini humbuckers are a slightly different bigger size than the seymour's and the gibson's.  Hope I didn't make a mistake with the neck pup rout.  Anyway, here are some pics ...

I guess looking at Dirty Steve's Black Korina's yesterday wormed into my brain, they're so pretty, plus it's the weight I was looking for, below 4LBS 1 OZ.  I'm usually such a bottom feeder, I don't know what possessed me.

That's a nice looking body. You'll be enjoying that long after the pain of a little extra spending has been forgotten.

Woo-Hoo, it won't be long now! Nice body! Quick turn around too. My Mooncaster body just arrived today, (pix posted elsewhere). Good luck with your build!

I know about the wait... 4 weeks into a 6 week lead time for an unfinished body. I'm only about 1.5 hrs drive from the guy - so once it hits USPS I know it won't take long. So I'm sure it's just waiting in the stack of orders.

Got the package last night. 6/25/18
I hope to have time tonight to exam it. :turtle:

Pup routing holes fit nicely.  Might need to do a little bit of sanding in the control cavity.  :rock-on:
