My Jazz Shredder Build

She's lovely.  You should be very proud.  Anyone would be if that were their axe, and having built it yourself really makes it that much more special.

And I agree about the push-pull pots- they are a mother-humper to work with.

Very nice! And I agree with Updown - that headstock looks good with that body.

It pretty much goes with any body style they've ever offered. I'm pretty sure I've seen it on all of them.. :icon_biggrin:

Just did a video nothing Amazing but lets you hear the guitar

Love the tones! I just ordered a Deathbucker and 2 Alumitones to build something from, so I was really glad to hear how they sound! THX!  :icon_biggrin:

I liked the video, it looks good and sounds good. Unconventional yes, but a good result  :rock-on:

Hi I've changed the Guitar and added a pick guard and changed the pickups. I think you will agree it looks even better

I dig the middle finger you just shoved up the nose of the cork sniffers.
A Floyd on a JM body?  A man after my own heart!!!

Well done sir, well done! :guitarplayer2:

I concur...Very well done... :headbang1:

Even though the sound quality is amazing from the alumitones, it's not the sound in my head. You know that sound we are all searching for.

I recently put together a Tele with an Alumitone in it, and was pleasantly impressed with its sound.

As time has gone on, I've stopped listening for duplications of old tones. Now I'm more "does it sound good or not?" Truth be told, it's tough to get a bad pickup these days. They all sound good, give or take. So, unless you (stupidly) buy into some super-expensive boutique units (yeah, I'm looking at you Mr. Kinman and Mr. Lollar), you can swap the little rascals out until you're happy.

The reason I was curious is that I've been playing with a set of Alumitones + Deathbucker on a cheap junk guitar for about a month just to see how I liked them, and have really been pleasantly surprised. There is a lot to work with there, so I can just imagine how good they would sound on a good guitar. I'm sure that the Alumitones are not the absolute end all and I have other pickups I like as much or better, but I usually come away from playing them saying "Wow, those are nice pickups!" Anyway, hope these new pickups give you what you want, cause it is an awesome looking Axe!!  :occasion14:

And again I find myself agreeing with Cagey; it is getting hard to find a bad pickup. In the past ~4 years and 13 builds, I had a pair of TV Jones P90s and a set of Fralin Hybrid Staggers for a Tele that I was anything but thrilled with. But, I've been at least pretty happy with just about everything else.

I also find that that ever elusive perfect tone I'm always looking for actually turns out to be something slightly different each time I play! It all depends on the tune, the level of the lala lube or the phase of the moon!  :laughing7:

So, I like having a broad range of tonal qualities I can choose from. Things don't get stale that way. I can tune in something new and unusual, and when I need to, I can still usually dial in a vintage tone as well.  I guess if every guitar had that 1 perfect tone, we would only need one guitar! And, what a boring world that would be!

Thanks again for sharing this fine Axe with us! :guitarplayer2:
