I really like the Jazzmaster shape but wanted it to have a Floyd, a humbucker in the Bridge and single / double in the neck... Answer was easy build a Warmorth...
I chose Black korina wood for a warm tone and finish it natural with Tru Oil.
Here's a few pictures, just starting out.

Update about 10 Coats in with Tru oil.. Thinking of using BeesWax to finish it up

Got My OFR together with a Upgraded Brass Block.. Still waiting on my Warmoth Headstock Neck and Pickups

You could also consider Birchwood Casey Gun Stock Wax, made from carnauba, beeswax and silicone.

Thanks for the advice... still finding that odd ruff patch.. which I'm sanding out lightly and oiling that area again.. I figure if I'm going to this much effort why not all the way...
Good news Got the notice my Warmoth Neck is complete and is being Shipped... Bad news the Store I bought the pickups from is still waiting....
Putting a Purple Dimazrio D Acivator X in the Bridge and Purple Cruizer in the Neck and Coil splitting each with push pull volume knobs

Yes definitely worth taking the time to finish the details. I just ordered some Birchwood Casey tru oil and odds and ends today for a neck which will be in an upcoming thread.

Hopefully the pickups turn up as you are ready.

Neck is Here the Birds eye was better then i'd dreamed, will take a picture in sunlight in future

Getting closer to the End Goal
Changed my mind on the pickups now it has the Lace Sensor Alumitones series
DeathBucker in the Bridge
Singe Alumitone      Neck

It's taking shape. I wasn't sure how this headstock would look with this body but it works.

Slightly off topic is that a Blackstar ID series ? If so how do you find it ?

Love talking about the Blackstar ID60
It has a huge tonal range.. I wanted maybe three amps
reverb twin by fender
Marshall jcm800
Mesa triple rectifier
I can dial up those sounds very easy..
The ability to chose which valve you want to emulate is spot on. If your feeling lazy, log in to their community site and download a patch which other users have uploaded to emulate their favourite tones.
Only bad things I would add are
The switching pedal could use more buttons.. I don't like double tapping you get lost live
(But you can use other brands of switchers)
Lastly this is a good or bad point.
When you stop playing it will stop the signal fast nice and silent. Downside is if you wanted it to sing the note out.
(This could be a setting I'm yet to adjust)
Try one out!

Even though I'm a bass player your build has inspired me to consider building a guitar similar to this. I always loved the Charvel Surfcaster guitars and the jazzmaster body with warmoth headstock comes close to that look for me.

Thanks for the info on the Blackstar. I have an HT5R for in the house but am curious to see how the modelling sounds on an ID series.

So true, the Surfcaster was a gem. I had one back in the early 90's, never should have let her go...I miss that guitar.. :sad1:

Need to know how the deathbucker sounds...
online audio is deceiving, but I bet it's Gnarly.
I have been tossing around getting one to try in the soloist...

Very nice build! Love the look of the Alumitones! Please tell us how you like them in this setup.  :guitarplayer2:

Finish The Guitar last night, took a long time Soldering, first time doing push/pull pots tricking little buggers..Hope to post a Video on my You tube channel to demo the the sound
As for the Alumitones. They are Amazing.. its hard to says how they sound, Transparent, Big, Noiseless and they really cut though..
