Maybe off topic, I'm not sure.

I went out and bought a camera last night. I grabbed the Canon eos Kiss x3. I believe it's called the T1i in the US. Anyway, to make this guitar related, I actually bought it mainly so I could get good photos of my guitars and such. Hopefully this weekend has some nice weather for me and I can get some pics for you guys.

Awesome! That's a great camera body!  I've been a canon shooter for a few years now, they make some great glass. Still using a 30d body though, kinda been tempted to sell the body off and get a t1i until I can talk myself into getting a 5d mk2.
How do you like it so far? The thing that scares me most is its size, I'm used to the larger bodies of the 10d/20d/30d/etc family, the t1i looks a bit smaller.

Congrats on the new camera though, you'll have a blast with it.

Well, I only messed around with it for a little bit last night just trying to get the hang of things. I need to learn how to work the flash so it doesn't leave that streak across the body of the guitar. It would also help a lot if I could get a manual in English. I speak Japanese just fine but I can't read it very well.

The kit I bought came with 2 lenses. 18-55 and 55-250. Both are IS lenses. I dabbled in photography many moons ago. My first camera was a Canon eos 10. It was the entry level eos at the time, around 1992 or so. A few years later I moved up to the eos 5. Then things went digital and at the time I couldn't afford a billion dollars for a digital SLR so basically I just gave up. God only knows how much I spent on developing film back then......and scanning is a pain in the backside. Anyway, prices are reasonable now so I thought I'd give it another try. I joined a photo forum earlier in the week and have been looking at a lot of the photos there and realize that I have a looooong way to go. hehe!!

Thanks, man. Yeah, I have that downloaded here at school and at home. I'd like to get it in book form if possible though.

Do you have a tripod?  If possible cut out the flash, a polarizing filter could help, but the easiest trick will just be to run a longer exposure on a tripod. OR if you don't have a tripod, try to find a stable surface to place the camera and shim it up/down to your liking for the photo, and do a self-timed shot, so there wont be any movement from holding/letting go of the camera.

i think a good backdrop is important too! thats easy though. can't wait to see the warmoth and the wolfgang!

Ahhh, man, I don't have my Woflgang anymore. Don't worry, I have a few goodies though.

Having once been a member of team Canon, and once in the family they never let you go it seems.... THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT!~

Anything EOS Digital is good, it just depends on the features and price point you're after.
