Actually, I think the first vintage guitar I played was a wine red LP. 70's or 80's.

Wine red LP's are the bomb. When the day comes that I finally own a "real" LP (my W LPS will do for now), it will be a wino or a goldtop.

I like it.  Black burst always looks great to me.  That jungle one is rad too, and the Heritage... well, I love Heritage guitars.

^ You'll love the Alt8. I have one in a Solist (well, its a custom shop Duncan Alnico 8, and I also have an old  Ibanez Super '58 which are also A8 magnet pickups ) and its just a great pickup. Huge sound, never spikey .Its hot , I'll tell you that right now. Wow you really get into tone!
On the Flip side, I cannot stand the Jazz neck. Thin, weedy and just wont stand up to the ALT8( although the middle position could be interesting. Not to worry. Lots of people love the Jazz neck, including , supposedly Seymour Duncan.
Its probably the most famous aftermarket neck pickup ever. I'd love to try a Breed neck with that ALT8
