I agree...I usually set a specific time to end but the 4th of July holiday threw me for a loop.  I went to clse it at 5PM as promised and it was tied.

I think I will start a tie breaker poll and leave it up all weekend...sound good?

Over 100 votes?  That's an unprecedented turnout; completely blows away all of our previous contest participation.

The board has been somewhat slow lately, we don't have over 100 regular posters here... so, suddenly we have a rash of new members joining/"lurkers"... and voting in this contest?

I would hope the votes are legit...it is just a guitar contest...no valuable cash or prizes....just the ultimate honor of being named GOTM.

We have been having an average of 85-90 votes.  100 is an alltime high but we do have some new members lurking around lately.

But if it means so much to SL I'll withdraw my entry.

It's very easy to register yourself as another person... just like I did right now (only to show).

All you apparently need here is another e-mail address (or more for more aliases).

As the owner of a few BBSes in the past, I've caught many people registering double, triple or more aliases
to agree with their own posts (from another alias), vote more than once, etc... .  It's all about reputation
and swaying other people's opinion online.

Truth be told, it should stand as a tie - although I don't think the individual responsible for the shiny graphic
