Body is  Semi-Hollow Black Korina (top and back)  No Finish (and hopefully I won't screw it up doing it myself).

Neck is VM Lefty (obviously) Rosewood 10-16 radius (which I'm not crazy about, but I love the color on this peice of wood). will be use right handed (yeah I know...the dots...screw it...IDC...).

Cool, I really like black korina. Is it 'chambered' or hollowed?

Great neck too, what bridge are you going to use?

yeah sorry..it is chambered...not hollow. It's drilled for the vintage spaced fender tremolo but I use the old Highway 1 bridge...same screw hole spacing but the string spacing is narrower.

thinking about the finish though...it's going to be clear, but I'm torn between a "soft" finish....or a shellac...

About the neck...I never saw a piece of rosewood like this, with all the colors and very litle grain pattern...odd to say the least but I thought it would go well with a rustic kind of build.

Have done several mock-ups.... (not great, but it gets the idea across)

:icon_scratch: ... to many choices.

Depends on your finish.
Here is a BK beauty in tru-oil , I reckon is great looking ..... http://www.unofficialwarmoth.com/index.php?topic=18629.0

Will look slightly different to those showcase / mock-up pic's, when you get it.
Great combo thou  :icon_thumright:

How about for the pickguard ...... Blue Pearl  :icon_jokercolor:

1. No tortoise. It's ugly in it's own right. And here it is way too busy anyway.

2. Keep the pickups and knobs the same colour. And again. Go for something simple. The wood itself takes care of being busy to look at.

Padauk looks kick ass to me,  but it's a lovely guitar anyways so something that doesn't distract from the body wood might be better,  :dontknow:

Yeah I'm leaning towards a black pickguard... these were all just ideas floating around....

they aren't perfect but from viewing from anything more than a foot or so away they look pretty damn good....

JUST GOT THE UPS TRACKING....BODY AND NECK SHOULD BE HERE MONDAY!!!!!  :blob7:

I vote dark rosewood for the pickguard. Wood pickguards are so classy.

Chrome or black metal knobs, to match the metal bridge and tuners.
