Although the black isn't bad, I think I'd do gold knobs of some sort, but otherwise, that's spectacular. You're going to get a lot of compliments on that one's appearance.

Option b is black plastic covers and replace chrome pole piece screws w gold, and gold paint the lettering in the black strat knobs.

Okay - here's option B. I'm not sure if I like the black jackplate w/ gold screws. I'd originally been planning black screws on black pickguard just show they don't show, but black pu's and knobs w/ gold trim sorta needs a little more to pull out the gold.

I love you so

Yeah, that jackplate looks kinda orphaned. And the black pickups look washed out. You could change the bridge to black, and that would fix most of it. Or, go back to the gold pickups/knobs/jackplate.

The pickups blackness is luck of the draw internet photo snagging. But yeah, I'm not sure either.  And I bought the bridge w the body, so .. gold it is.

Yeah, I'm loving that better than I thought I would - for some reason I had black plastic strat knobs really etched in the brain. Although it makes my choice of deleting the 2nd tone knob rather than the 1st one look odder than it already does. I did that because I like to be able to do pinky wah as well as volume swells.

Okay, last one and I need to get to work (when my z-poxy gets here). Someone mentioned tortoise..

I think I like it, just not sure if I like it more than black. Hmmm ok on reflection I think the colors in tortoise work BUT... the busyness detracts from the body. Black it is, but I think I'm beginning to regret the tone knob location, at least aesthetically. I put it there on purpose  for pinky tone wah, but the more I think about it that never works well enough to hack up the controls, get a crybaby you tightwad!

I notice it has got a middle single coil route but your scratchplate is for two humbuckers with no single coil hole. Are you choosing not to use or is it a stealth pickup which seems to be getting a lot of attention recently.

Evidence, motive, method, opportunity... no there's a much better way, and pretty much all it takes is looking the other way :)
(Not my dog, not my cat. Just covering the bases honey. Random internet snapshot)

That poor dog. There is no greater insult to a canine, then to be shagged by a cat.   :dontknow:

Pic of the year!! :laughing7:

Lovely Korina! It matches the color of your cat :D

All top routed strats appear to get S/S/S routes, then whatever you ask for gets hogged out of that.

It's 2HB by design, this is supposed to be a Gibsonish guitar tonally, but I can't stand Gibson ergo's (particularly the neck angle). The current plan is a pair of GFS Mean 90's, and a short scale wenge/ebony neck. If I don't like the pickups it's probably geting a JB/Jazz combo or some other fairly traditional humbucker pairing.

very, very nice :icon_thumright:
Might have to consider korina on my next build after seeing this. Wenge neck with figured ziricote fretboard, no markers would also look great....or ziricote "unique choice" option. Nonetheless.....cant wait to see it finished.
