Man, that looks fantastic. Is that the UC piece of black korina?

Sorry, what is "UC piece"?  It's Black Korina on Black Korina, special selected top (paid like $175 extra I think)

That's a beautiful top. Nice choice. Love the heartwood streaks. A clear coat on that will make it look great. Is this going to be another GOM?

Wow, I wouldn't think it would be good enough to get GOM, but I agree it's beautiful.  I got it in Warmoth's "satin finish".  Not sure about a clear coat.  I got all the electronics finished today.  EMGs 57/66, single volume knob, 3-way EMG switch, wired all up and installed football jack plate, tested it and it works great.  Neck is taking coats of lacquer this weekend over a Fender Strat 70's style decal.  Will work on the Floyd Rose tomorrow, trem claw and springs, and install the strap buttons, and finish the initial coats of lacquer.  Going to wait a week to let the lacquer cure, do the decal sanding next weekend and get the final stuff put together and then sending it to Cagey for fret level/dress/crown/polish and final setup.  This is going to be a very special guitar.

I've been bitten with the bug, already ordered two more.  Need to stay off the Warmoth site late at night!

Yeah, I'll have to figure out how to enter.  This is my first build so I doubt it'll be GOM worthy.

Τhe body is finished? I can't tell from the pics.

Yes it actually is finished.  It's Warmoth's "satin" finish.  Quite an interesting effect.  It's stunningly beautiful in person.  I can't even describe it.  I'll try to get good pics to post when it's complete.

That is incredibly sharp.  I love it even more since it looks like it's getting a Floyd.  :glasses9:

Thanks, I'll give it a go if mine qualifies.

Yes, indeed.  Working on the Floyd right now.  Tungsten bridge, saddle shims, etc.  Craziness.

Absolutely beautiful lumber! My wife thinks I'm pretty whacked when it comes to my guitars too. I just tell her that I can't explain it to someone who doesn't already understand.

UC = Unique Choice.

Yes, yes.  Unique choice.  Haven't seen any more UC black korina since.

Congrats on picking up that top. I loved playing around with it in the configurator. Looks really nice.

No hurt to try. You have the reverse of typical problem - if it's not rough enough, just go down. Not like you're doing any harm unless you just gouge it with a nail (Gauge 0.0000005)

Αlthough I prefer oil for black korina I believe satin is a good choice. I have a beautiful body with gloss finish and looks "wrong" for my taste.

Thanks for the kind words, I'm really excited to get the build done, but taking my time.  What a lesson in patience.  I decided to do a 70/71 era Fender Stratocaster waterslide decal on the neck, and so it's taking some time.  I'm also dissatisfied with the Warmoth installed Floyd inserts as far as how the screws fit, they are too loose, so I've ordered another set directly from FR (and several other locations just in case) and going to replace them this weekend.  This is definitely going to be a "spare no expense" guitar.  And, it wouldn't be really complete without having a professional fret level/dress/crown/polish and set up--and Cagey has been kind enough to offer his services at a reasonable rate.

Ok, can I be honest?  I can't quit pawing it (the body).  I'm just holding it, and rubbing it and touching it.  Hahaha.  Oh, come on admit it, ya'll have done that too!  Ya'll have done that right?    :glasses9:
