So I have been playing for a few semesters in my universities jazz band through my own amp, an Epiphone Valve Jr. I love the amp, however, it really just isn't big enough. We just had a concert a week or so ago, and I was talking to my friend afterwards and he brought up the point that many people have brought up "...I just really can't hear you that well"

Well after hearing that four or five times, I decided to look around and see what I could find. I was looking for a 15 watt or so tube amp that did some nice cleans, with maybe some slight break up at high volumes.

Enter the Carvin VT-16, an amp that seriously seems like it was designed for exactly what I need. And just to sweeten the deal, its 150 dollars off right now with a Black Friday sale. I didn't even think twice.

It should get here right around thanksgiving, so I'll let you know what I think then :icon_thumright:

I've got one.  No bells and whistles, like a standby or effects loop.  But it's a 16 watt amp with a low price.  They are quite mod worthy as well.  I've found mine to be a bit muddy, but I never really crank it either.

Congrats. I just picked up a Carvin Legacy 3 not too long ago and totally love it. Every Carvin I've ever played sounded great and I'm sure you'll really dig yours.

Be sure to check out the Carvin User Forum http://www.carvinguitars.com/bbs/ Tons of useful information and Hasse hangs out there from time to time as well. He's the man to talk to when wanting to do mods to the VT series.
