My first amp was a Univox U-65RN. Looked exactly like this one:
Got it in early 1974, used it for ~2 years before graduating to a silverface Fender Bassman 50 head feeding a Dual Showman cabinet with JBL D-130s. (or were they D-140s? Can't remember now.) That Fender monstrosity sounded amazing.
The Univox, not so much. Although, I suspect if I'd kept it long enough for the punk-rock phenom to come around, I would have been all over the sound of that shitty 15-watt solid state combo cranked fully clockwise. I mean, it would still have been an awful sounding amp...but that would've been appropriate by then.
