Very cool Pete, if you go with the light body and darker top, I'd leave off the PG to show off more of the top. Just my .02

Thanks Doug, but this isn't the fancy woods, pretty one - this is just one piece of wood (my first solid body scratch build - am I doing things in the wrong order?) and will be painted. Very painted.

Another mockup with a maple board (I'd prefer a dark one, but found a bargain UK-made paddle-head neck, so that's what's going on it) and a vague approximation of the silly flip paint job.
