Everything but the kitchen sink (no Warmoth content)

Very cool Pete, if you go with the light body and darker top, I'd leave off the PG to show off more of the top. Just my .02

Thanks Doug, but this isn't the fancy woods, pretty one - this is just one piece of wood (my first solid body scratch build - am I doing things in the wrong order?) and will be painted. Very painted.

Oh well, as long as you're not covering up beautiful woods.... :headbang:

On a secondary note, this could be cool...

Wait, you guys don't always hide an extra design inside the main one?

It reminds me a little of these obscure Yamahas:

I'm only slightly offended that you swapped out my beautiful* headstock for that 3x3.

*I know

I was looking at the shape so much I didn't even notice that. :tard: :laughing11:

Your beautiful headstock looks like the Carvin traditional shape - is that indeed the case?

It does look like the Carvin, but that's DangerousR6's beautiful headstock, not my beautiful headstock.

My beautiful headstock is this one:

It's meant to be reminiscent of kitschy 60s Japanese styles (whilst also being the same shape as the upper horn of the guitar that's the original topic of this thread).

As this new project - to be clear, it's the blue one with the built-in fuzz - is a 'tribute' to a Teisco model, I've spent way too much of today fiddling with a version of the original style.

Feel free to give out opinions/ridicule etc., but no, it can't just have a 'nice' headstock.

This one gets my vote. It's balanced and graceful.

You caught me, yes it's Carvins. Only one in my digital arsenal that matched... :dontknow:

Spending my lockdown time constructively...

The crown on this Teisco headstock badge reminded me of a fly's head:

Hence my version:

As you were...

Thanks for the input, chaps.

Another mockup with a maple board (I'd prefer a dark one, but found a bargain UK-made paddle-head neck, so that's what's going on it) and a vague approximation of the silly flip paint job.

It's going to be, what's the word?... Garish is the word.
