Hey everyone,

I am soooooo happy and exited. Last night (German time), I finally placed my order. The 1st one ever with big W. I ordered an extreme custom neck, since they are goint to pum laminate on the headstock, so they can put the same finish on the headstock. I mean the same I will use on the body.

Just read the post about the "UPS shipping woes". Hope it will not hit me, because even if something happens to the neck, no chance for returning the broken part.
But I believe I'll be on the lucky side.

Only the HB issue is still open. But I believe that will be solved soon.

Bye JULIA

Just curious... why are you doing a laminate if you're putting a finish over it?  :icon_scratch:

Other than that, congrats!  :occasion14:

Hey hannaugh,

well, the binding is the master. I just wanted binding on both sides top + bottom.  Other than that no reason.

Adios  JULIA

and congrats from me too!! sounds like a great project!!!

and before I read Hannah's comment I was thinking about the same... why not all Mahogany or all Korina??
it will be great either way! :)

Hello Marko,

is BK on Mahogany a bad choice?  Don't make me feel toooooo insecure now, please.

I thought it'd OK like this as well.

Ciao JULIA

Hi Julia - just responded to your PM.  Did I understand your question correctly?  Still need me to send you some caps and wire?

No worries Julia,
Neither is a bad choice! I was just curious :)

Ciao JULIA

Neither is a bad choice, but they are very similar in density, weight, and sound, so I would only use both if one or both of them were going to be seen, especially since BK can have gorgeous markings.  There's certainly nothing wrong or unsound with using both under a solid finish, it's just very unusual, so that's why I was wondering if you had any particular reason for doing it.

Hello Marko and hannaugh,

well, I fully understand curiosity.  Reason, well it's called:  BINDING, that's why I chose a lam top. It's not a "Unique Choice" part and all the others cost the same.
The same price on Mahogany or BK, so I thought it doesn't matter, really.
Definitly didn't want start a discussion with it....... :icon_biggrin:

Well, I am an unusal person, that's why  -even tho it's my 1st try-  I make everything kind of exclusive, just think of the finished headstock.
Didn't think it would cost that much, but what the 'heck', I am doing it anyway.
I bet all of it  -once put together-  will look extremely georgeous.  :icon_thumright: :icon_thumright: :icon_thumright:

Bye  JULIA

Hello Tipperman,

well, I can't wait for that myself. But the guy (Paul) I was talking to, to place the order, warned me, it could take about 3 months, because of all the extra wishes I am having......

I want to have now, not in 3 months time.

Bye  JULIA

Hello Jusatele,

wow, like I said, it will take 3 months time before I even get the stuffs. So all you people have to wait for the same amount of time.

Did they accept the Indian Rosewood on Goncalo Alves? When I tried it they were very reticent about it... Ended going with macassar Ebony...

Congrats! Sounds very blingy :laughing7:

Congratulations. I remember how excited I was when I ordered my Soloist body.
It was the first step toward actually doing something instead of dreaming about it and planning it.

@ Fernando Estevez:

oooohhh no, it Goncalo Alves on Indian Rosewood. No they didn't mind. Everything went through easily. Actually it's weird, GA on IR is OK, but the other way round it doesn't work?
Maybe next time call in and ask?
Yep, I think so, too. I mean abouth "blingy".

I never thought I would like a colour like Fuchsia Flake, but having seen it, I think it's soooooooo georgeous.

@ Street Avenger:

I've been planning for that particular body with everything else since about 2-3 weeks now. Even before I started entering this forum.
I just couldn't hold back anymore, since you never know the piece of wood for the fingerboard would still be there in some months from now.
