Dinky P bass in black korina
J Neck is wenge with ebony board

Plan is transparent green finish with Tru-Oil (don't have a place to spray and I love how a guitar came out in Tru Oil that I did 10 years ago).  Going with EMG GZR pickups, which may mean I have to open up the holes between the pickup cavities and the control cavity.  We'll see...

Those are some handsome parts.  If you would like to learn from my struggle with green transparent finishing, have a look at the thread for my green telecaster.  While my substrate was mahogany, you might encounter similar issues with the greenish-yellow of black limba/korina.  If you can get hold of a piece of scrap in the same species and coloration, by all means, experiment before you get busy on your high-priced parts.

A nice set of parts. I bet the body would look great with a couple of coats of shellac to darken it a little followed by just tru-oil itself.

Beautiful body and neck.  Black Korina just be my favorite wood aesthetically.  Really nice!

Thanks for the link.  Have the body dyed green now.  I think it looks like it should work with a little sealer and oil (which will darken it some).
