Doug's shop reopens on May 12th,

Working from the center is it Walnut, Maple, Padauk, korina, and some more padauk.    Exotic scrap!
 
Never throw away your cutoffs. I tend to keep all wood pieces, even small ones. You never know when they can come in handy.  :headbang:

Did find out last Friday that the custom body cupped a little bit last around Thanksgiving.  So Doug had to get it true and flat through his wide sander and that brought the thickness down to 1-1/2" thick.
    So to recover that lost 1/4 inch he is laminating a 1/8 inch of Maple and Mahogany on the back before the body is cut and trimmed  out. We wanted two contrasting colors of lumber to give it appeal.
      Yes, Doug is very slow but it will be so nice when she is finally finished and done correctly.
