Would anybody else like to see more straight-radius Showcase options? Or at least non-premium prices for a straight neck? It can't cost anymore to make - they're already programmed in... ($35) There are some advantages to the compound, but there are also some for the straight-12" or 10" neck too - primarily having to do with playing chords up high. Most of the greatest guitarists with signature models, who can afford or specify anything (and are certainly aware of compounds) stick with a straight neck of some sort.

I haven't noticed any benefit to a compound radius. I just got mine that way because it didn't cost extra. I think I'd be perfect happy with  a 10" or 12" and if I get another neck I'll pay the extra. Makes it easier for use with the TOM and Floyd Rose bridges - which I plan to get one of these days.

Actually it does cost more for Warmoth to do a straight radius.  The compound radius is done on a dedicated sanding machine that does only that, while straight-radius necks are done on an adjustable machine that has to be reconfigured and adjusted every time you do a different radius.

Strange as it seems, they're tooled up to do the more exotic compound radius faster and cheaper than the more common straight radii.

I would think they should just do it in 10" radius since people looking to replace a Fender neck is replacing a neck with a 9.5" radius.
