Clear pickguard material

I reckon Warmoth would do well by offering pickguards in clear plastic. A clear guard is a great medium for a custom look. I painted gold on the back of a clear guard for one of my P basses and it turned out great. The rear routed fans could have the best of both worlds by showing off all the top and protecting the finish and the crazy artists could have a field day sticking all sorts of material (offensive and otherwise) to the back :icon_tongue:

I still think a guitar covered in carpeting a la zz top would be kickass. Could totally deaden the wood, but damn would it look cool.

I like the pickguard selection that Warmoth has, But WD has the biggest selection of pickguards out there. I'd like to see more options from Warmoth of course, and that goes for all the hardware etc...But Warmoth is in the wood business I figure.

Speaking of Pickguards, I was surprised when I put together my last order that I was not able to purchase a pickguard online. I couldn't find a add to shopping cart button or buy now, whatever. the pickguard order had to be called in. I could buy everything online except the pickguard.

I know theres a reason for it, I just don't know what it is.

I don't know; to me a big part of the Warmoth allure is all the beautiful exotic wood available; why cover it up with a pickguard, don't know that I'll be doing much of anything but rear routes in future builds....

Jack, I agree, I have been very outspoken in the past about my dislike of front-routes. However, as I have people wanting me to build warmoths for them, they don't necessarily have our viewpoint. They want a more typical strat look. = pickguard.  And after some reflection and thought I gotta agree that a traditional strat look needs a pickguard.

With all that said, I am not sure where the rear routed strat body fits in, other than I guess "Modern Strat" or Art, personal, custom?-strat

You saw the $650 Blk Korina that sold the other day?  Glad I saved the photo, that's almost porn to me. and the rout (pickup, bridge) was up to the buyer.

I get bored with plastic / acrylic pickguards, so I went with something different for my Warmoth LP build.  Machine turned aluminum on a black body.  Diamond plate would have been a bit busy...that would be better suited for an Explorer, or something along those lines.
