Neck with first coat of Tung Oil, it really made the birdseye and flame pop...

Body with first application of grain filler

Plan is to do a two tone burst finish.

Electronics will be Rio Grande Tallboy strat set.
Bridge is a full recessed OFR.  Should be unique with single coil pickups.

Well,

Here is the update.  The neck currently has 4 coats fo Tung oil and is looking really killer.  I think a few more coats and I'll give it the final buff.

I have also finished grain filling the body (I think), got to say; not the most enjoyable task.

I have also shot it (one coat) with a Nitro clear matt primer/filler.  I was impresseted with how it really brought out the character of the Black Korina.  Once it dries, I'll sand it back and hit it with a final coat of filler

Got to say, after seeing it pop with just a matt clear coat I am half tempted to do a clear gloss, but I really think I will stick with my plans to do a amber/reb/black burst.

Hope you like it...

Here is the update.  The Burst came out pretty good.  A bit more red then I had initially hoped for but I am pretty happy with it overall.  There are currently 4 coats of clear.  Will hit is with a fine sand before I shot the finish coats and wet sand.  There is a bit of black overspray near the pickup route that I missed before I started shooting the amber and red but the pickguard will cover it.

What do you think so far...

Looks pretty good. Nice color choices, and a fine job. My concerns would be that it appears you've covered the korina's grain pattern on the edges, and that the pickguard is going to pretty much cover the center of the burst. But, it's tough to tell from from those pictures in that light. I'm sure the real thing is much different, and will be even more so once you sand it back and buff it out.

As light as the base color was, that would've been an excellent body for a clear finish. A lot more contrast than mine has.

Hmmmm, this is a tough one. You did a fantastic job on the burst but if that was your intention all along you probably should have gone with swamp ash. I think korina is too pretty of a wood to cover up with any paint. Swamp Ash would still give you a good contrast. But then again your choice of woods could have had more to do with tone than cosmetics so I should probably just shut up. Again, excellent job on the burst. Can't wait to see it all put together.
