My body will arrive tomorrow; have many diabolical ideas to try on it; pics/videos by the weekend!

yes! relicing video! haha i'm excited now. as long as you don't just set it on fire like that guy on youtube with his JEM. that was just...

Thanks!  It really has that 'chipped' look.  The one on the back looks pretty good as well.

Yeah, they're both very realistic.  They look a lot like stuff that has happened on my guitars over the years.  :icon_thumright:

First we need some buckle rash...

But the buckle powered by palm sander does nothing but make the buckle hotter than hell...

Screws?

Ugh, that nasty poly gets all whitish when you brutalize it...

Let's sand it down with some #150 and apply the holy trinity, lacquer thinner, belt dressing and super-penetrating oil!

Voila! Starting to look relic'ed; need to let it sit and gray up the raw wood...

I like it Jack!!! I always wanted to do that,,, (the car part)

anyway, the 2 of you inspired me today, so:

and yeah I know, there is nothing vintage about this one.. it's an old squire body that I found hidden away in my mancave...

I also made a movie of it, but it turned out a little disappointing..  I drenched it in lighter fluid, and I only wanted to 'bubble' the finish, but it was not that spectacular unfortunately..
I am currently trying to think of more ways to torture it..

Ultra strong expresso darkens up that newly raw wood. Will have to wait till tomorrow for the noxious stuff to dry/wear off a bit before I start nailing meat to it and letting the dog gnaw on it.
