Given your reported hand-size, I'd recommend the boatneck, although the '59 Roundback should also definitely be considered (really depends on how much you like that classic Gibson-sized kind of neck - I think that the neck on the SG you played is more similar to the roundback than the boatneck)...

I really recommend Wolfetone for pickups. They make truly unbelievable pickups (I have three in my current Warmoth). Also, I love that purple/gold combination you have going on!
