It’s been well over four years,

I want to replace this:

http://unofficialwarmoth.com/index.php?topic=15479.msg224382#msg224382

With this:

http://www.warmoth.com/Showcase/ShowcaseItem.aspx?Body=2&Shape=1&Type=1&Path=Stratocaster,Standard&bFinish=354&i=PS9362#

First question:  Universal or H/S/H rout?  I know that it really doesn’t make much of a difference, since the only advantage to the universal rout is that it accommodates a full-sized humbucker in the middle, which I would probably never do.  I just like the idea of the extra mass vs. one large cavity.  The existing (broken) body has a universal rout but I believe Fender subsequently went with the H/S/H rout on their production Strat bodies.  I will probably ditch the S/S/S setup and go with an H/S/S configuration (exact pickups TBD).  Just wanted to check with the collective brain trust here; Universal or H/S/H rout?

Second: for the showcase body linked above, what else should I spec? (other than the rout). I just want this thing to be as turn-key as possible.  I know I will have to drill the pickguard, input jack, strap button and tremolo cavity screws.

Thanks all.

Route makes no difference. HSH only crowds things if you want to go stick some tom fool contraption inside later.

I think that the HSH route would suffice unless you plan to put a full size humbucker in the middle.

This. I get all my top-rout Strat bodies with H-S-H routing just in case. And if I can put a bug in your ear, that body looks fantastic with the tortise shell pickguard. YMMV of course.

On a white body, it's hard to go wrong with any pickguard.  It had a pearloid pickguard but I'm thinking of going with this, mostly because it is unique:
