Well basically got my plans together for when my epiphone goes out for good, Well i was just wondering would i get very much evil looks from people to get a paddle headstock and get someone to shape it into a more thunderbird shape?  :icon_scratch:
Cause to be honest i love the shape of the headstock, even if the heavy wood makes it neck dive,
Id go with a hybrid of three on the usual tuner side for the design and the smallest string tuner on the other side if that would help with neck dive.
Know planning a second project already is a bit overkill but hey keeps me busy, and this one is just for kicks, hence the custom artwork of some sort  :cool01:

Yes you would go directly to hell.  Do not pass go, do not collect $200.00

But you should do it - it's Rock And Roll!!

Go for it. I've always loved the look of that headstock.
I would do it myself if I had money and knew anyone I'd trust to cut the headstock.

Warmoth makes the firebird headstock. I dont see why they don't offer the thunderbird.  :icon_scratch:

Cheers ill be doing that then, theres a few guys in england that look good for custom cutting and such, hopefully same person that would paint the artwork onto the body.
and cheers mayfly ill remember about the hipshot ultralites

England? I know three luthiers from there: mr Wez Venables (Burton-On-Trent), Mr Johnatan Feline (Feline guitars, Croydon, London) and Mr Bob Johnson (Legra guitars, Essex)... All them are maniac about quality on details!!

Yup England, and the Wez guy from  burton on trent what does he do work of? is it just general guitar work or custom artwork too? found what i believe is his webpage, or test page so to speak.
Just he is near where i am up at uni at Stafford, So if i got any parts for second build at uni i could easily take to him for doing the headstock cutting.

Well, he builds guitars and basses, basically... I'm not sure if he does setups and things alike, but he has built some nice instruments (I live in Brazil, so never played, but the pictures looks very attention to details and know some picky guys that have guitars built by him and likes)

Usually he builds things from scratch with his own design, when someone ask Telecaster or Strat he gets a Warmoth or Might Mite neck... I think is a good idea give him a shout :)
