I'm amazed anytime anyone can make a body by hand and have it look good.  If I were to get a body blank and make a body, I would end up with a body that looked like a blank.  Great stuff man.

Well, what can i say about luthiers from centuries ago. All they had were hand saws and chisels...We have power tools as routers etc... :icon_scratch:

If you are talking about the old violin makers and other instrument makers, those guys did a long apprenticeship before being let loose on any instrument to sell.

I'm sure the likes of Stradivarius made plenty of scrapwood mockups before using the good tone woods. And I bet at least once he and others made a goof and planed off more than was necessary and ruined a commission. You're right about not seeing any turds from these guys, they would have burned them to protect their reputation.
