Man don't let that zero fret bug you. Brian May, (The Almighty God of Homebuilt Guitars, let us now bow down and pray to the May,) has one on the Red Special, which he's been playing for 40+ years, and I don't hear him complaining. And also, awesome build!

It's fourth attempt.

The first one was a NTB guitar built with a little help from my friend-luthier

Than Tele with Warmoth neck

Than another Tele for my friend

And finally this green Wolfganish axe.

I also have a Squier Strat which was totally .modified by me.

i wouln't ever say nice mirror-like gloss finish is easy to achieve. I takes a lot of practice in spraying, sanding and buffing. I'm still learning snd can see minor imperfections in it which are not visible on pictures. But i also took a deeper look on factory finished brandmark instruments and observed a lot of finish imperfections as well. They have dust-free chambers, expensive and precise industrial tools etc. Not even talking about  nitro finish on Gibsons which shrinks and gets dull by itself.
