Which wood for ambient

You know for under $500 you can get a decent Fender.  It's a little early to be shopping for custom guitars if you don't even know what "bright" and "warm" are.  For that kind of music, it doesn't matter so much, it all depends on your effects anyway.

Congrats, DBW. I've got about a thousand more to go, so I'll get there eventually. Maybe by the end of the year.

Get a MIM Fender, or a used American or something, and replace the electronics, maybe. I still say EMGs.
