What new Warmoth website and new options for bodys?

Maybe when my kiddos get closer to your sons age.  Gigging doesn't go over so well with a tired wife watching two infants at home.   :glasses9:

I'm not sure I'm good enough to get paid for my playing anyways.  Now, if I can sing and still write off guitars then I'm all set.
With the nice looking guitars you have, you could just stand there and sing with it slung around your shoulder..& ..tax write off.   :laughing7:   Infants are supposed to be asleep when daddy starts his first set....it's a rule.  :glasses10:  Wifes dig their personal rockstar hubbies by nature, they can't help it......been married to the same hotty for 21 years.   :headbang1:

If I can get her out and being social again, I might be able to pull it off.  She's still in the hardcore mommy 27 hours a day phase.  We have started discussing whether she can leave the youngest for a night, so I guess that's progress. :headbang1:

I'm not sure I'm not in trouble for not backing out on the one I ordered tonight, but she couldn't pass in my offer to let her sleep in both days during the weekend while I watch the kids.  The plus side for me is that I just started a four day work week at my job, so I can just sleep in on Fridays now.

I have to agree.... I admit that I initially was a bit grumpy about the increase, but maybe I was more pissed off about the fact that I am broke at the moment ;)
after all, there is no other competitor that offers all the options warmoth does.. (although one of them recently lowered their prices.. but they have a bad reputation:))

also, Gregg announced a price increase early last year, so lucky for me they took a while implementing it.

$200 more for a Soloist body is a lot.

Damm my indecisiveness I would have ordered my neck before the price increase but I can't settle on what I want.

All I know for sure is it won't be a indian rosewood neck now.

My body on order only went up $20-25 I think though,  So I saved a little.

Oh man, you're that old or have you married with 7? :icon_jokercolor:
I'm really old but well kept......and preserved in a sense.  :laughing7:

You would be referring to the Carved Top version. Carved Top bodies is where you will see the most noticeable increases in an attempt to continue to afford to produce them.

Well, just beat the price increased. In 10-11 weeks, I will have a
VIP
Chambered Mahogany with Flame Maple top
HxH
recessed Wilky route
recessed Vol, Tone, Tog
Electosocket hole

Yellow dye on the top, Trans brown back with clean line option

Had to act with the price diff. The neck I was looking at will actually be cheaper, so I will wait a bit :)

prices go up. big deal. Even gibson and fender have raised their prices in the last two years. Get over it guys.

Indeed, my only gripe at the moment is that the exchange rate is no longer £1 - $2 instead it's around £1 - $1.40 which makes importing anything from the US at lot more expensive, I can't blame Warmoth for that though and I won't be in a position to order another guitar for a while yet. ;)

The body thats UPS-ing its way to my house right now couldnt have been ordered at a better time, then.  A rear-routed Mahogany thinline has jumped from $277 to $347.  That's $70.  In the grand scheme of things, that's just a bit more, not too much to have stopped me.

A standard, no frills, Ash bodied Tele style, front routed, has gone up all of $5.  An Alder strat style has gone up $15.

Not everything appears to be getting hiked up as high as a carved top.  But this does put a damper on my Padouk topped LPS dreams.  I should have gone that route when I was planning my current project.

It appears that things like recessed tune-o-matic routes and f-holes have remained the same price.

I wonder what this will mean for the price of the showcase pieces?  For now, the prices appear to be the same.  I wonder if that will change?  Or is it that Showcase pieces are how they're wanting to take things now?  Custom orders cost more, Showcases cost less.

...and speaking of prices...

Guitars are holding their value less than ever.  I paid for my Warmoth by selling off guitars on ebay.  Granted, the economy is bad.  I took a loss on a couple of things and did pretty well on a few others.  And I've been contemplating selling my Epiphone Les Paul Custom (really great ax), which goes for around $700 new.  I saw one go on ebay for under $200.  ugh.  I'd let it go for $400, which would still be a loss (even though I scored it through a series of trades... and have far less than that invested in it), but I think my next Warmoth, or other, is a long way off now.  Unless I go with a Strat or Tele, standard config.  Which is not why I'd go to Warmoth, so its a moot point.

How many people have the last printed catalog from Warmoth?

Compare those prices against todays, and I think you'll find that Warmoth has held on to lower prices as long as could be expected in today's economy with overhead such as labor, insurance, medical benefits, etc...

Just visited the Beta site....I don't know if that's the final 'look' of the new website, but the black background does not look good to me. Makes everything harder to read, and definitely has 'death metal' vibe to it. I've been a regular visitor to the W site for a couple of years, and was always impressed with the look and functionality of the website. Be careful not to 'downgrade' the site please! Maybe you've done your market research and found that most of your orders come from people who appreciate the dark, gothic, metal vibe, but I (who just ordered my second guitar a few weeks ago) am not among them. What's up with the new 'shredding metal god looking skyward' logo? It's so 20 years ago. I say time for a re-design! :icon_scratch:

Thats what everyone said, It personally doesn't bother me but I'm not a huge fan. I do like it because it looks a little more professional, but on the down side it its a little dark. And although I'm not happy about the price increase it had to be done to keep the business going.

Ok. Do you sell a lot of Carved Top Soloists?

I strongly agree! I would have kept the white background, it's just MUCH easier to see!
Well, roughly 1597 NOK for a Maple G4 body is something I can handle.
