If you're going to have these as your tuners:

You pretty much have to gets these as your knobs:

Kind of curious choices for a multi-thousand dollar full-custom instrument, but I guess it's a reflection of the buyer's intellectual prowess, maybe I can get one with some little plastic dinosaur knobs. :icon_thumright: You know, like a little Tyrannosaurus chasing some bronto's and stego's around. :cool01:

How in hell does one play on a fretboard that wide? It's practically Paul Bunyan's axe. You could land a @#$%ing plane on that thing.

I forgot to include the site:
http://www.jeanbaudin.com/

He doesn't go into much detail about each individual bass under "Gear." Whatever else he does, he's either born rich or he's gotten really good at getting luthiers to give him some really fine stuff! He's got a stable of Conklins, but now endorses http://www.facebook.com/pages/Kenneth-Lawrence-Instruments/240316242085

Who I also never heard of. I need to get out more? Or spend more time on the internet, OK.

It's a beautiful work of art, but my fave is the dinged up old black P/J 4 stringer at the end of that page.

Phbbbt! Dinosaurs! Whaddaya, 3 years old? Get some Flinstones vitamins!

Those got "knob" written all over 'em! Shoot 'em with some clear satin-finish Krylon to keep 'em intact, and you're all set!

They got a name for guitars like that with so many strings, I think their called pianos

that bass is the PERFECT solution for when your band's guitar player comes to practice with his new 8-string guitar  :cool01:

all the best,

Greg Howard is ridiculously good, but I'm not sure I like his tone. Trey Gunn has more mids, and that's what I prefer:

Is that a Padouk top? :icon_biggrin:

I think these are like Chapman sticks, but the video kboman posted shows a guy playing fingerstyle, like a guitar, so I'm confused now. :dontknow:

Warr guitars, made to be more versatile than the Stick. Trey Gunn plays his upright like a Stick, at an angle like a guitar, sometimes with a guitar pick and for at least one song with the guitar lying face up on a keyboard stand.

Also they look way better than a Stick  :cool01:
