Obama is now president. That's all I'm saying.

Oh, there was some rare snow today, so... Snowbama.

Hey Max, we are sitting here in Raleigh enjoying the snow as well!  SNOW DAY!!!!!!  I did not have to work, kids had no school.  There was some snowball fighting.  It is rare here in NC, so we had to make sure and go out and enjoy it!  This is also one of those rare times that it is good to be on salary.  I'm getting paid right now!  Oh, yeah, new president.  That's cool too.

Yup, I've got one more day on a mini-break between semesters, then I'm going back.

This Cry, The Beloved Country report is annoying.

My dog liked the snow, and my cat took a moment to look out the window at it, but I stayed inside.

Did you guys notice Cheney in a wheelchair?

Yep... but Dr. Strangelove had an evil arm and the rest of him was OK.  Dick Cheney is ALL evil!

Gary, that was too classic! Wonder how many of the 'wingers will get it.
Quite a big day for lots of folks, in all seriousness. He gives a great speech, but now the rubber hits the road, for better or worse.

Well, I wasn't a fan of any of the candidates.

But I gotta say this:  Obama is better than Hillary.

I'll give him a fair shake.

But he'd better not F this great nation up with more socialist programs (the Dems still haven't learned that history has proven Socialism = EPIC FAIL).

So far so good - he, unlike the MSM, hasn't shown preference to either party... we'll see after the honeymoon is over.

My favorite part was...

Na na na na
Na na na na
Hey heeeey
Good bye!

By far the most satisfying part of the day for me.  Obama was like, thanks for being such a good guy during the transition.  Now get the hell off my lawn.  :)

IMO - no matter your personal opinions of the man and/or policies of W during his eight years (I will refrain from my opinions, as they don't matter in the context of this post), it was absolutely a disgusting embarrassment to see how the leftist fringe showed their disrespect for the Office of the President today. I sincerely hope the disrespectful crowd grows up before O's honeymoon is over and reality sets in, and I hope that the far right can refrain from lowering themselves to the same kind of disrespectful expression towards O that their liberal counterparts expresed towards W today

If you're a US citizen, the President is your President even if you don't agree with his/her action and/or policies. period. Nixon, Ford, Carter, Bush 1, Clinton, Bush 2, and Obama have been or currently are my President and yours - whether or not we personally like or agree with them - and are due the respect that is to be given to the Office of the POTUS.

Today's event wasn't a Monster Truck rally for the beer gut challenged (even though it appeared to be so at numerous times) - it was an opportunity for us - the US people - to show the world that democracy works, and that we have a respect for the Office even when we disagree. All that was accomplished with this childish behavior today was to enable those on the far right an opportunity to justify future childish behavior and act the same in response.

If Obama was really cool, he would have gotten together with Bush and said "Hey, the country is kind of in a recession right now.  How 'bout let's not spend $150 mil on a big inauguration and a ton of fancy parties for me.  I'll just stand up there and do my thing and then get right to work being the president, and if citizens wanna throw parties, they can."

That's what I woulda done.

Tomorrow is another day.  I'm a registered Republican, but I am more than happy to see Bush and Cheney gone.

Hey dangerous, as far as I know all that money was private donations, not tax money. I think it was a myth about tax money being used, but I could be wrong.
