Warmoth Today

One of the cleanest and nicest bookmatchings i've seen from you also. Now to hope my eventual Quilt Topped Iceman finishes similar  :evil4:

There are several transparent and solid neon finishes coming through the shop.  Pretty cool!

So how much longer before we see no more new LP's in the showcase?  There were a couple really nice ones this week.  Just wondering how many more are in process before that pipeline dries up.

^ I was wondering the same thing. How long can Warmoth "finish up" the run of LP bodies before Gibson gets pissy again?

Smells like Christmas around here....  On the other hand, maybe it is just this stack of pine goodness.

At $500-800 a pop for some of the prettier finished ones, I suspect there will be some stragglers for a while. If you think about it, they don't have a 'best used by' date, they're compact, and they're already set up to house gobs of guitar bodies. If you have a piece of super dooper spalted flamed quilt maple or the most beautiful piece of Koa in the world, there's no need to blow it out at bargain basement prices. You can just hang onto those until the person who just has to have it that bad can't stand it any longer. Perfect Pricing says to stand your ground on those items. Most of the carved tops are already a bit rich for my blood, but then I'm on the other extreme end of the price conciousness curve. (Hey, I found a blem poplar unfinished screaming deal because someone wanted a hardtail left handed soloist with a tele neck pocket!!! Yay!)

I'm curious which species of pine is being used here - I know there's more than one variant of pine, so I'd presume some are harder than others.  I built a tele out of eastern white pine, and that was SOFT - I could literally dent it with my thumbnail quite easily.  Or will these be offered with hard finish only?

Hard finish requirement  is for only necks, which are dimensionally challenged for stability. A body is pretty much a bit thick hunk of wood. You can play it unfinished if you want, it'll just get grungy.

That orange would look killer with a thick black matte single ply pick guard and all black hardware on a ebony/maple or maple/maple neck.
