I tried to resist. But resistance was futile!  :icon_biggrin:

Body finished in Alpine White. Black hardware. SD P-rails in Triple Shot rings. PW tuners. I think it will be called The Black'n'White Strat.  :guitaristgif:

that is one of the coolest looking necks i have ever seen!!

Ye gods... I had forgotten the $3.75 top ferrules for the last showcase body I bought (5 days ago?).

Even at just $25 for the minimum order (I added sundry other stuff), UPS was going to get $44 to send it to Hong Kong. An expensive mistake to make.

So...

Will have a Wilkinson trem, Blackmore-esque pickguard (S-X-S), Tone 1 & Tone 2 holes, 3-way switch.

I'll eventually order a CBS 1 3/4 Fatback Maple/Ebony full scallop w/black face dots (It's like no face dots, only with them), but didn't want to delay this order any more than necessary.

Sad, really, that I had just been telling people I was thinning the herd...

You bought a new warmoth in order to get a better deal on shipping, relatively speaking, for some top ferrules? That is probably the best GAS story I've heard in two plus years on the forum!

Makes perfect sense.

[in Elvis voice] Thank you, thank you very much...

I've wanted to do the 'Blackmore' build for quite a few years, so it wasn't completely an impulse buy. The sale helped, though.

I figured the only thing more foolish than ordering a body (and bridge) to get the ferrules was to pay $75 for just the ferrules.

Is now the wrong time to admit that I have chrome top ferrules but didn't want them to ruin the Totally Tufnel hardware scheme (None More Black)?

Here is my new project:

This wasn't exactly what I wanted, but the sale convinced me to try something a bit different.  But I didn't order a neck because I just didn't find anything close to what I wanted.

That's a nice looking Tele.

It is, if you can stomach the green in the blue.  Personally, I can't stand that, but I appreciate everything else about that body.  I love the grain and love the binding.

Just a question for all of you, why do so many of you go for the tops and dyes and binding alot? thats three areas that add another 100 dollars onto a guitar and such just for look of it mainly, so why do alot of people prefer it to slapping on a colour finish?

oh and when they arrive ill post pictures of my body as it was a showcase z5 bass body :D thats some saved money ill put for a new amp.

It's a custom guitar, why not make it look that way? It's half the bonus of warmoth. The other half is the feel and sound.

Thats true, well mines going to have simple translucent purple over swamp ash, simple but effective for what will hopefully be a well used bass, i would go with a more fancy approach for a second build but i dont know how much i would want to play it and take it out places with me knowing of the extra 150 or so ( English pounds) that went into the extra looks. specially when i could use that to save up for a massive amp rig behind me, but without ear plugs haha:P well going off topic do apologise, shutting up :D
