I have one on the way and still saving up for one; wanted to share a pic  :headbang5 :headbang5

I have the burst epoxied and ready for a new bridge installation. I messed up the first attempt. Also, I am changing out the black knobs and covers for cream colored ones

the pedals in the pic are all handmade..so if anyone wants a good fuzz to help fund a new neck email me!

update modify : added cream hardware stuff , lighting kind of bad, but looks beautiful like this :) : )

Cool projects. In some sort of converse universe I am awaiting two bodies. What pedals do you make aside from fuzz? Tell us more. Thanks.

That is hilarious lol ..

I can do almost anything custom but I pretty much stay analog and stick to the basics for the most part. here are my reviews and builds etc

hey whats the 4.4 inside the pocket, is that the body weight ?  I dont own a scale here to weigh it.

the bridge on there is one I did the ferric chloride aging on ..it takes several months process for it to start looking the right way and becoming natural patina.

That's the weight in the pocket.

Nice builds and as a fellow designer/builder (amps), I respect your work.  As an aside, we are running a quasi-parallel build with the sunburst.  Can't wait to see em finished - looking great so far!

Cheers

I'm not sure the number in the pocket is always the weight. My JM body has "27" in the pocket. That would mean it weighs either 27 lbs or 2.7 lbs. When I weighed it, it came out 4 lbs 2 oz. Maybe AA or someone can shed a little light on this. It would be nice to know what, if anything, that number means. Color code? Batch number? The guy who did the finish?

Sometimes they'll use a shop-floor tracking number in there.  Makes sense when it's a custom job like your red roasted swamp ash part, Rgand.  For run-of-the-mill stuff, they don't need to keep close track of any particular part, but they do need to know the weight for when they put it in the showcase.

both of my bodies were showroom pieces. thanks for the help and kind words. For some reason weight was never an issue with me, I can be just as happy with a 40 lbs log or a feather lol.

jst watched a D trucks interview and he says lighter the better...lol

so far so good. neck feels right so far, like I wanted it to feel

24 3/4 mahogany with rw boatneck 6105

the bridge is a lot nicer than I thought too! was missing screw but was hidden inside claw spring  :laughing7:

well I got the trem claw and bridge on...glued the bone nut in withvery minimal glue per the forums sage advice.

needs filed..hope i do good on the first nut.  decal is on the head stock too.

*** and I messed the nut up ..still plays but will have to redo lol ..im going to have to buy a set of nut files one of these days ..the bone nut blanks are harder to finish because they dont have any guides ..I was off on my bottom e and b and now my is too low ..but its off, feels goofy to fret a d chord !

the neck is FAT ..SUSTAINS like crazy , you can hear it ring out unplugged..going to take some time to adjust to it though. they say a fatter neck is easier on the hands to play over time than a skinny one.

*** took the headstock decal off.. looked a bit crooked so I decided to just go without one for now

*** the 1999 Les Paul Humbucking pickup I have in here is driving the fender blues jr tweed amp into heaven.  oh my goodness...I thought it my be too bright since the fender amp is so clean and bright already but its a perfect match so far. I guarantee it would cut through a 20 piece band lol

thanks ! I hope it lightens back up, looks a bit dark right now ..maybe I should of not sealed the wood, but a test piece lightened back up to normal wood colors...the neck is fat..the rosewood slab is almost 7mm. the boatneck is taking some time to get used to. sucks I have to redo the nut ..this bone nut is hard to file for some reason. Spending close to 20 bucks on nuts already should of just had warmoth do it for me at this point as it seems im not learning anything without the proper file set!

**i salvaged the nut so the guitar is playable for now until I do another one, this time pre slotted not a blank .
** sealer lightened up a bit and looking much better, might require a light sand

Love the way that stain looks. Absolutely beautiful.

thanks! its starting to lighten back up, i wont even attempt a paint job, I can live with it looking like natural wood. got a new nut on and although not perfect filed its working so far. all pulled apart, sticking a toggle and the other 1999 les paul humbucker in it. the pickups paired with my blues jr are  about the best tone I have ever heard.

with the nut closer to being where is should the neck feels more comfortable just like the old tele I used to have.

I'd love to see another picture once the bodies lightened up. I love the natural wood grain on it. No fancy lam top or nothin, just a sexy hunk of wood. Glad you're enjoying it. +1 for the Blues Jr, that's what I play through. Great little amp. I've got Tung Sol tubes in it right now. I dunno how it affects the tone or anything like that, but I sure do love it.

its back to its natural color for the most part. thank goodness, I wish i wouldnt of messed with it now. I will have to replace the nut one day when I get extra money but its working ..I thought I knew what I was doing with the nut  :icon_biggrin:

torn apart again...the les paul humbucker sounds so good I am sticking the other one in on a toggle, no tone control..the thinking was I only needed one and this was #2 , I would sell the other pup ..there is noway in hell I sell the pickup. truly cant believe how these pickups are affecting my tone.

with no scale I cant tell you the weight , but I bet its over ten lbs easily the heaviest guitar I ever owned ..it has a LP tone and faux feel to it ..no can change my mind over the LP humbucker/tweed combo ..its pure rock and roll.

here is the problem I have..my number one strat is beautiful cosmetically and feels great but it has sss route and no pups can touch these HB's ..im afraid this will become my go to guitar and I will never want to play the single coil strat again ..I wish now I would of just saved up a bit more and had gotten me a finished body with the HH route..I have a hot rails which sounds good, but will not drive the amp in tone ..all of a sudden the huge sweet tone has me neer wanting to play a bell-tone thinner sounding strat although it rips on a  clean amp. the cleans are great but I play dirty 90% of the time.

one down, still one to go..this is now number 2 as those pickups are no match for the 1999 les paul buckers I got from a friends maple flame top LP. He put in pearly gates in place of these. number one is still on the work bench

Number 2:
