If you can contain yourselves after experiencing my MS Paint prowess, you may find yourself surprised by how good a variety of head stock shapes suits this body style.  I really like the 3+3 and Warhead here.  Since I cant get the Warhead with the "nicer sounding" truss rod, I'm going with that.

The first and second don't fit at all. The third is ok, but looks generic. So the fourth is the only worthwhile option, IMO.

Yeah, I agree.  I have a spare Warmoth cut sitting in my parts closet, so I could save money, but non of the double-expanding trussrod necks I've bought from W have blown my hair back.  I'd love it in Vintage Modern.

Are we talking these exact necks, or are these just examples?

If it's down to these exact necks, I like the Warmoth 3x3 best.

The Warhead is a great look, not crazy about the wood.

I kinda like the right-hand reverse Tele neck, just not the scalloped look.

The standard Tele neck is just, ... meh.

I literally just slapped on the first samples of neck pics I could grab from the Showcase.  This isn't to show color combos - just shapes to get a general feel for what a Velocity build could look like.  I dig the warhead shape and the reverse tele is growing on me, too.

I like the warhead shape on that body, too. This is where mine's going...

That thing needs a black pickguard with some white floral designs on it. Maybe some cream knobs :dontknow:

I used to have one of those back in like 1980. I found it in a locker at the high school I attended in Washington St. It was all in pieces... :guitarplayer2:

For headstock choice, I'd go with 3+3...

Thanks for the size of the pic, Cagey. I hate to have to scroll around to view a pretty guitar. I appreciate your consideration.

Damn pretty guitar in the works there, as well. Can't wait to see it done.

Thanks. I'm pretty pleased so far, too. Slow going, though. Other stuff in line ahead of it.

Of the four posted, I like the warhead best. A reverse warhead might look even better.

I'd love to see an aerodyne version of the flat body, but plastic binding is not possible. Boo.

Diggin' the snake!  Ignore the color combo - just a concept.  This cut would allow me to have the single truss rod construction that I dig.  The only negative I can imagine is the lack of straight string path, so maybe tuning stability would suffer.

With a fixed bridge, I'd suggest the straight-string-pull issue is likely to be minimal, as long as you cut your nut right.

I've been known to handle my nuts with accuracy.

On a side note, I've got the guys at the W mothership looking into a one-piece PF unit.

I kinda like that too. That body looks good with a variety of head stocks.
